february 16

i'm back on track today. hey hey! i decided i'm going to start including pictures i find every day. how exciting, right!? a lot of these are courtesy of ashley brown's tumblr page. and yes, i want a little baby hedgehog! how could you ever resist such a sweet baby face? when did i become the type of person that gets giddy over hedgehogs?

yesterday i drove by and found the apartments that i was talking about. they are on weaver drive. i wrote down the number but i still havent called to get a pricing. i will by the end of this week i guess. theyre so cute, i really hope theyre not out of my price range. they have white brick and dark brown doors. and the stair railings are black iron. theyre pretty. i hope i can get one. ill have to post a picture on here soon.

we finished the movie phenomenon today in psychology. id never heard of it, but it has john travolta (<3) in it and kyra sedgwick (sp?) and it was so good. thats all i have to say about that. i have a feeling we're going to be watching a lot of movies in there.. that class is beyond boring. i've seen a lot of white rats being tested for psychological constructs this week and i might just die.

i got a valentines card from my dad yesterday :) they have a really small selection of cards, so the one he sent had puppies and said "god must love me, because he gave me a great friend like you". dad wrote beside friend: "/daughter" man, i miss him. they just moved him to a medical camp, and im not sure really what that means, but he said it sucked. he told me it was a lot like 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest' (thats a book that was written in the sixties.. i recommend it for a laugh or two). i feel so bad for him. could you even imagine being in a situation like that. its depressing to even think about. hes strong though. and he comes up for review in march, thank god.

im dyeing my hair tonight. yay. redhead induction tonight. i hope i dont look like a ginger. i mean i hope its a mix, like what i posted yesterday in the pictures of HW. crossin' my fingers!

tomorrow christian and i have to take our picture for 'born in the wrong generation'. i still think its hilarious that i got that. i didnt know people in the senior class even knew me that well. i guess ill just wear my (AUTHENTIC.. haha) led zep shirt and my reeeally flared pants. and no shoes, duh.

quote of the day: "how wonderful life is with gaga in the world." -elton john
word of the day: conundrum (n): a riddle, the answer to which involves a pun or play on words, as what is black and white and read all over? a newspaper.

8.1.10

I'm having a really good day so far. Then again, it is only first period. But we had a two hour delay, and it was nice to get a little bit more rest than usual. And I'm off work today!

Tonight I'm going to Appalachian Ski Mountain to sit by the fire in the lodge with my sister, while the "men" snowboard. I think Carter is going too. Poor baby Richie has to work though. He's had the past two days off though! Haha. I'm excited. If I could move to the mountains right now, you better believe I would. I love it so much there. I love the weather in the summer, how mild and breezy it is. And I love the culture there. Especially in towns like Asheville and Boone. So many free spirits, so much art, so many hippies - everything that I love and aspire after is there. I'm pretty sure that after a few years of living in High Point I'm going to be packing up and heading west. (And dragging R Blackwell along, even if he objects! I know he loves it too..) Hopefully by then we'll be traveling by 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. Oh yeah, I love the landscape to. One of God's best creations.

Yeah, I'm set on getting that for $1,200 THIS SPRING. No one understands why I'd want to trade a 2004 model car for an old rickety bug. Well, you just have to know me, I guess. I'm stubborn as hell.

I really want Starbucks to call me back. The WWW said they were hiring baristas. I would love it so much if I could work there. Nothing against Randy's. I mean it basically is where I live, but I'd like to get away from VEGTUBULL PLYAAATES. People in this community kill me. Haha.

Well.. nothing else to really write about. Congrats to Julie and Kayla for finishing their graduation projects. I need some intervention to get going on mine. I respect them for finishing theirs. Haha. And also congrats to you two for graduating in SIX DAYS. I hope both of you love every minute of being away from this institution. Go get em!

#nowplaying: Dropkick Murphys - Warrior's Code

I hope I can go to that Dropkick Murphys show. They're crazy. Last night I made some vegan pancakes when the rest of the house was asleep. So naturally, mom was up every five seconds to make sure I wasn't making a mess. They were so good though! I put bananas in them. Here's the link to the website where I got the recipe: http://www.recipezaar.com/5-Minute-Vegan-Pancakes-132263

I ate them and watched George Lopez, all by myself. It was nice to kinda relax a little. Sometimes I get really overwhelmed for no reason. Yesterday I really didn't have much to worry about, but for some reason I always seem to find something.

Work last night was one of those rare, hilarious ones. The customers think we're kooky sometimes, I'm sure. I don't mind though. I just love the GRAVEDIGGER spill. I was bussing a table last night and found a receipt from the woman who had just been there, and the receipt was for a pack of Camel no. 9's and Fred's Kitty Cuisine. Todd and I laughed forever about that. People amuse me.

Only 8 more days in this semester. I'm ready to have art and the easy classes. This semester has been so ridiculous as far as stress and LOADS OF WORK have been concerned. Carolyn Jones is the most insane teacher in the history of the world. Just sayin'.

mothership

I hate being a hypochondriac. I mean, my body might really have problems. But I feel like half the time I make them up. And I swear I don't mean to. I'm just tired of having to worry about the same thing. They say that 80% of health problems are mental. So, if we think we have a cold, we're probably going to get one. I'm just afraid that if I think I'm always healthy, something really will be wrong, and I won't know.

I really need to stop. It's becoming ridiculous. Why am I such a constant worrier?

I've slacked off a lot in school lately. There's a term for that - SENIORITIS. I'm so over this semester. I almost get mad thinking about how tired I am of school. Tomorrow I finally get a break. No work, no school, and I'm going to a Christmas party. Oh yeah, and I'M SLEEPING IN.

I can't wait until I can find something with substance to talk about here..

I'm in love with The Allman Brothers Band right now. And Heart. I always have been. But I love it when you have favorite songs that you listen to a lot, then you leave them for a while, and when you come back and listen, they're even better than before.

far from the moon

I get so tired of the same routine. It makes me tired just to think about it. Wake up (so early), get ready, run out the door, get to school as the bell rings, and go through all the same classes every day, and then go to work right afterwards. The only one that I actually look forward to each day is yearbook. I feel like the work I do in there is actually worthwhile. You know? Like, we take math and english, and we get good grades on the tests. But we don't actually see the "end result" until we graduate and get handed a legal piece of paper, our diploma. It all seems really useless sometimes when I stop and think about it. But in yearbook, I can actually see and picture the end result. And it makes me feel a little better. Even if half the staff drives me batty.

I worked all weekend, like usual, and Friday we actually had a good night. I made about 40 dollars in tips, which is really unusual for Randy's. Someone even left a twenty in my stocking! I almost cried. But anyway, this Friday we get paid, and hopefully I can use half of my pay to get the rest of Richie's Christmas stuff, since I finally got done buying everyone else's. It's gonna feel weird; I've never used my paycheck for something big like that. Just gas on occasion, if I ever didn't have enough money in tips. Might I just add, and I've probably said this before, but it is damn hard living off tips. Haha

I hate how my skin gets so dry in the winter. I bought some St. Ives Vitamin E lotion (the statement I just made is making me start to wonder just how interesting my life has become) and I try to put it on every night before bed, or when I take a shower. It smells really good. But I do love the winter.

^^ How pointless was that whole paragraph? It feels like this is just my mind's thoughts, except maybe a little less chaotic.

Today is nine months for me and Richie. I love you, cuddy buddy!

Yesterday my mom was in the computer room wrapping presents, and I opened the door to ask her a question. It was so funny, because as soon as I cracked the door, she took everything in her power to hide my presents with wrapping paper. It was so much confusion and paper-y noise. She makes everything so dramatic and awkward, but I do love her. I saw a Barnes and Noble bag.. and anything from there is good.

I feel like I'm never at home anymore, I never have time to spend with my family, or anyone else for that matter. Richie and I both work all the time, and it's hard to work out times to just lay in bed and watch TV. Which is better than any "date". That's why I can't wait until Christmas, when I'll be able to see my dad's family, my at-home family, my adoptive family, Richie and his entire (HUGE) family. And nooooo work on Christmas!
